Appa's Bossa (Big Flute Choir, 12+ players)

Appa's Bossa is a bossa nova inspired piece for Flute Choir. It's dedicated to me and Julia's cat, Appa. She's a tortie with a little attitude and is extremely playful when she's not sleeping in the sunbeams strewn about the house. Appa's Bossa borrows from the sounds of Antônio Carlos Jobim and latin-themed lounge music from the mid-century era. The piece was commissioned by the Oklahoma Flute Society.

Duration: ~3:45 min.

Instrumentation: Piccolo, 3 Flutes (all div.), 2 Alto Flutes, Bass Flute, Contrabass Flute

Premiered on July 25th, 2025 by the Oklahoma Flute Society Flute Choir
