Appa's Bossa (Small Flute Choir, 8+ players)

Appa's Bossa is a bossa nova inspired piece for Flute Choir. It's dedicated to me and Julia's cat, Appa. She's a tortie with a little attitude and is extremely playful when she's not sleeping in the sunbeams strewn about the house. Appa's Bossa borrows from the sounds of Antônio Carlos Jobim and latin-themed lounge music from the mid-century era. The piece was commissioned by the Oklahoma Flute Society; this version being adapted for Oklahoma City University's Woodwind Doubler Studio to have one flute per part.
